I enjoy the exercises Gyanpriya uses to train our brains.

It has helped me to meditate more easily in my home practice.

Hello, I am Gyanpriya, and this is the story of my journey into the heart of Yoga and holistic healing.

I understand the search for something you can’t quite name because I’ve lived it. I know what it feels like when something is off,  even when the boxes of success have been checked –  and definitely when they haven’t. I know the weight of stress and overwhelm, and I also know the relief of deep, abiding inner peace. This is why I do what I do.

My own search for that unnamed something began with unyielding stress that led to deep discontent followed by a health crisis. Together they forced the question and opened a doorway into the ancient wisdom of India. I found a natural path that healed everything: the stress and discontent, the physical illness, the thinking and habits that had destroyed my quality of life..

Step by step, intuitive guidance led me: first to Ayurveda, still relatively unknown in the West at the time, for healing and my first Yoga practice; then to the ashram, Yogic training, monastic life, and initiation into a lineage thousands of years old, where I learned how to be the master of my mind and my life experiences.

What I sought was understanding – of myself and of life. What I discovered were not only tools for self-mastery and insight into how life works, but the undeniable power of these ancient methods to transform both daily living and consciousness itself.

When several swamis at the ashram eventually persuaded me to enroll in a Yoga teacher training program, I did so only for my own growth. Even after completing my foundation training, I never intended to teach. So I delayed leading group classes for nearly a year. Nearly twenty years later, I remain grateful for their gentle persuasion.

What I’ve come to notice over these years is most people don’t really come to me for Yoga or Meditation classes. At a deeper level, they come seeking direction because something feels missing, because stress and uncertainty have worn them down, or because they are searching – but not yet sure what for.

My offerings respond to those needs: practical enough for daily challenges, yet deep enough to change how life is perceived and lived.
